Got the idea for this kind of post from a lot of journals but especially etherealxmuse. I like the idea of a having an introductory post that people can read and help them decide if they want to friend me or not; having people pop out of nowhere and add you can be nice but its nicer to know that you're not being added by some psycho freaky Jason internet killer, neh? Right.

So, I stole this Friending Meme from the community twilight_sucks and removed the Twilight hating references. Bashing Twilight isn't the only thing I'm about. Really, its not.

Has everyone seen the commercials where you text a question and get an answer texted back?

I sent it a couple trivial questions to it ("Who is Naoko Takeuchi?" and "In Wicked Lovely, who is the queen of the High Court?"). It sent me back correct answers both times.

Being bored at work and on a whim, I decided to text:

While wanting to avoid shelling out money to the pop culture abortion that is Twilight, have I acknowledged that I cannot go without seeing New Moon and making witty snarkity-snarks about it.

To remedy this -- and feel as if I am doing something productive when I SHOULD be writing an English paper -- I've decided to watch a bootleg copy uploaded onto surfthechannel.com. And take notes.

( What have I learned from the first endeavor? I CANNOT WATCH TWILIGHT WITHOUT WANTING TO COMPLAIN. )

This may take days to see through, with my superbusy work and school schedule. That, and I just don't give a shit. New Moon is THAT boring, you guys.

1. Pokemon are suddenly real, and you can get any you choose to start with. Who do you pick?

I'm going to go old school and say: a Squirtle. My Squirtle was just so cool in my Blue version, and Blastoise turned out to be pretty powerful towards the end of the game. Plus, I have a fondness for 1st and 2nd generation Water Pokemon in general.

2. Which pairing did you ship in digimon 02?

I shipped the series-implied pairings: Ken x Miyako, Hikari x Takeru, Sora x Yamato. I haven't paid attention to 02 to know who I'd ship nowadays.

3. IM clients! Why do you prefer MSN?

Actually...I hate MSN. I prefer AIM, but most of my online acquaintances prefer MSN, and that's the only client I can find them on persistently. So...boo MSN, yay AIM ;_;.

4. Okay, you've got 101 things. Pick the coolest and explain why you chose it!

Right now: my copy of Wicked Lovely. Its the book thats inspiring to get my own story out there. I carry it with me everywhere I go ^-^;;.

5. What are your thoughts on the "waifu" phenomenon and the 2-D complex in general?

I don't know much about 'waifu' but, after looking it up on Google, I'm guessing its a phenomenon where otaku claim anime and manga characters as their boy/girlfriend, etc.?

I know I've fallen in love with my share of fictional males: Hwoarang from Tekken, Eric from the Sookie Stackhouse series, Hatsuharu Sohma from Fruits Basket. And those are only off the top of my head. Nope...I see know problem with someone adopting a fictional spouse, as long as it doesn't effect their grip on reality.

Saying that, I see a guy marrying his Nintendo DS as going a liiiittle too far with it...

The battery in my Inspiron 1501 is dying. And, I think the replacement power cord is dying. Again. And...the GB on my hard drive is going down, bit by bit. Everyday.

The consensus on the Web seems to be that Dell laptops are crap as a whole. I could buy a new battery, a new power cord, and an external hard drive from Dell, but jeez louise...all the money I spend on those, I could buy a NEW notebook. Right?

However...I'm against shoving this Inspiron in a corner before its time. I got too much shat on here that's not easily transferable. Or replaceable.

Still wanting on the housing assistance voucher to come through. I'm first on the list but, hot damn, they told me that I might have to wait until after December and January to get it. Two more months with these people. Damn.

Not to be a stingy snob...but I hate lending out my books. Stepmother's sister borrowed my copy of New Moon two weeks ago. Finished it in a day. Hasn't returned it yet. This after trying to convince me to sell her all four of my Twilight books.

Hey. Stepmother's sister? I need my book back nao, please. Sure, I hate that damn series more than anything but those are MY books. Any books I buy are precious to me, now matter how shatty they prove to be.

I do believe I have found the fake cover that was posted for Melissa Marr's next book, Radiant Shadows.
